18th-21st October 2021, Raised bed continuum
The raised bed continues. We’ve had a lot of rain and that has hampered things a little. Now the plastic weed control is installed and is sandwiched between the wall supports and the wood beams on the ground. This offers some protection for the wood on the ground.
It’s quite stodgy and sticky today. Look at the wood pallets on the ground - very muddy as I step on things to screw things together.
The next picture the back wall is complete, and the risers for the front wall now in place. Now comes the assembly of the front wall. This is a checkerboard of thick wood from heavy duty European pallets. Trying to get all these lined up and at the same height was a bit of a challenge but got there in the end.
Rain stops play. Or was it rain? May have been tap-sabotage as there is so much water here, we think someone turned the taps on and left them running, again, but these are things we have to deal with at the allotment. All planned into the design. Will have to wait until the water abates. Will probably be a day or two now.
