5th September 2021, The construction moves on to the bench…
In the resting area, Desi is enjoying the new table and terrace having prepared what is a late lunch. Behind Desi is the beginning of the bench-seat which is the final complement of the terrace “set” of furniture.
The bench-seat is being built onto the pallet, previously installed during the process of building the terrace. So far the framework of the seat is being built and a previous pallet which was disassembled is now forming the base of the actual seat itself.
The second picture gives a little more insight into the actual construction of the bench.
The seat itself is supported at the sides, at the back and in the middle too. No attachment has been made to the decking. Everything is basically screwed to the pallet at the rear, and just resting on the terrace itself.
Another perspective on the bench, looking from the “road” side. Quite a nice wide bench, far enough away from the current positioning of the table, but of course the table is moveable if a little heavy.
Looking through the trellis: quite a nice setup now, we can’t wait to get it all finished and then onto the area where the pallets are all piled up (behind). Lots to do over there including securing the polytunnel for the winter season ahead.
