 17th-23rd November 2021, We thought we’d finished - Cold Frame

Last leg with the cold frame. Notice the finishing touch with the wood dowel on the Perspex lid. This has just been tacked on… an attempt to at least provide some kind of edging and the water from going off the sides. It won’t stop it completely but it might help a little.

In the next picture you can see the area for the door latch is being constructed. Now the door to fit. In the next picture you can see how a milk bottle will have their bottom cut off and inverted into the holes that are in the centre of those wood blocks.

In the next picture you can see how the bottles will sit together. There will be a divider between each bottle too to ensure they stay upright.

Also in front of the bottles the remains of what was left of the decking has new been screwed down to provide a complete path around the cold frame.

With the door affixed, hinges at the bottom and hooks either side to hold the door vertically. Lastly a handle attached to pull the door down and the cold frame is just about finished now.

In the last picture you can see a small bit of wood on the underside of the lid (Pallet side). This is a guide to ensure that when we reposition the lid we have it in the right location.
