Whistle Stop Tour of Allotment - Lower Section

8th March 2022, Whistle Stop Tour of Allotment - Lower Section

Now the wooden terraces have all been completed on the lower section, much of the groundworks have either been completed, or are well advanced. All the spare/unused wood/pallets have been placed onto the last plot to be sorted, while the other two plots are finished off.

In the first picture you can see the broken concrete slab (feature!) has been located in-situ and is now ready for the path which has been levelled now as well.

In the second picture you can see how the paths are coming together: the original-grass path, the just-built path (wood chip), the one in front of the raised bed (woodchip) and the soon-to-be-created polytunnel entrance (woodchip) are all conjoining with the concrete slab in the centre.

Another view from the 3rd picture. Looking much better with everything levelled off and looking much tidier with the exception of the lumber yard in front of the polytunnel.

The last two pictures showing the perspective from the bottom of the allotment area. It is hard to imagine how this looked even just 1 month ago, when we first returned after the xmas/winter break.

The last picture shows everything ready to be finalised. The woodchip still to go down and the top plot to be finished, but all in all a good start to construction in 2022. Spring and Autumn seem like ideal construction periods.
