Abundance Continued

 29th July 2022 - Abundance Continued…

When we sit down on the terrace these days, those bees are very close. The pink Mallows and the Marigolds are now in need of restraint, so string to the rescue and we’re going to tie them to the trellis.

The Alyssum are now doing really well adding a nice dash of white to the top of the wooden wall and underpinning the other flowers although they are also getting a bit squeezed out in places.

We’ve trimmed back the gooseberries a little, and tidied up the grass, so the new plot (at least the bottom 1/3rd) is now looking slightly cultivated. It’s taken us 4 months to get this far, as we have duties on the original plot, but at least we have made a positive start.

I think that the next picture with the terrace, table and flower bed is the best picture of the summer. Everything is full up, abundant and flowering so nicely. The Alyssum just hides the rest of the soil and provides a carpet of small white flowers, filling up the gaps.

In the last picture, no, we are not growing brown bags, this is the paper from home for the fire. Our first tomato in the polytunnel is now making its way to red status. Very nice to be witnessing these tomatoes and the probability of a decent crop this year.
