26th February 2022, 1st BBQ of 2022!
The days are extending out now. Here is the 26th February at 16:30 and the sun is still up there. OK the shadows are long but the sun looks like it’ll be up for another 40 minutes or so.
The wood is all chucked onto the other plot with the soil mound as work is going on to build the wooden terrace border and the path down the middle between those two plots.
2022 kicking off with BBQ’s in February, might be one of my earliest starts, but all good… sausages and chicken it is then. Notice that the cement BBQ extension has cracked with the heat. This we will re-use elsewhere, not sure where at the moment but the BBQ area needs a bit of rework and this will go at the same time.
A photo from the bottom of the allotment, it’s quite a bit more orderly now as we begin to level up the growing areas with this wood.
Desi looks concerned in this picture or maybe just not happy about the smoke which always seems to follow you around. The soil all levelled up now on this plot, still a few more planks to fit, but we’re getting there.
The chicken looks good! … not setting up a picnic, it is way too cold. We will just eat a few sausages and the chicken and enjoy the BBQ flavours. Love it when you have a good longish session and then finish off with some food - this is the life! Work hard and then enjoy the good times too!
