29th March 2022, Moving on….
This post sees out the remains of the first month of spring. As such we have now finished the fourth and final section of the potato construction. Desi is here digging the ground and putting in the last of the potatoes.
So in the next picture you can see the finished structure, although as the potatoes grow we are going to have to add wooden slats all around, and add more soil too. Probably 6 slats high all in all.
The next picture you can see some onions coming up. These were small sets and now hopefully turning into larger onions. These are located near the fire and behind the purple sprouting, they should be ready before the end of the summer.
Another couple of photos of the finished potato structure, one from the bottom of the allotment, and across from the neighbour's plot, and the second one from around the polytunnel down to the potato area. Hopefully with about 60 potatoes planted we will get a decent crop this year and without so many wire worms and other crawlies.
