Panorama, picnic, and sunset

25th September 2021, Panorama, picnic, and sunset

Late on in the year and the plot is still bountiful with vegetation. Maybe one or two more courgettes to be had, butternuts ripening now, flowers still creating a beautiful picture on the raised bed / terrace.

In the second picture putting it all into context a panoramic view from the road. Still a bit of a building site whilst we construct more of the infrastructure but all in all we have done reasonably well in our first summer, with plenty to show for our labours. We  may put the runner beans down as the crop of the year - they have been both bountiful and tasty.

Although the tomatoes caught a relatively early bout of blight, the tomatoes in the polytunnel performed well enough to provide us with fresh tomatoes when we were eating “al-fresco” at the Haven. Here we blended BBQ food with salad and relish along with a nice dram of whiskey! Would be rude not to!

The sky was beautiful tonight with a gorgeous pink hue as the sun descended. You know what they say, "Pink sky at night, farmers' delight!" (… or something along those lines…)
