Upgrading the Polytunnel Insides and More Wood!

5th April 2022, Upgrading the Polytunnel Insides and More Wood!

Following on from the reorganisation of the polytunnel interior we are now addressing the concerns of the path. The problem with a wood chip path is that the wood chip disappears into the soil. With the upgrade of the polytunnel to meet our needs we really do need a more substantial path… “est voila” here it is!. We filched some slabs from another plot that had been given up. What, with a few old pallet ends, a path emerges. We are going to plant marigolds in the gaps, to try and keep aphids at bay… Another gold gardening tip!

Meanwhile outside “on the plot”, things are looking very organised and tidy. We managed to secrete some more pallets onto our plot. Just when you start to need some more wood… guess what? More wood miraculously appears.

In fact a good deal of wood has now come to us which solves the question of “Where are we going to get the wood from to build the structure behind the polytunnel?” … it suddenly doesn’t feel so onerous anymore.
