18th September 2021, When a plan comes together
It cannot be described in words, the feeling of accomplishment when a plan comes together!!
And the rest area is one such example.
When we first took on the allotment plot we were sitting down on black plastic bags, upturned buckets, piles of weeds (in the drier days) - anything we could perch on basically.
Here we are nearly a year on… With a very comfortable place to sit when the work time is over, or just for a break. The rest of the plot might still at times look like an ever shifting building site, but we can always look to the raised bed and the flowers Desi has worked hard to germinate and plant out.
When the evening descends, it might seem to be a strange place to sit with a lamp, in the dark, chat and reflect on things according to traditional thoughts about allotments, but, these days with so many flats, allotments (kind of) double up in some cases as gardens. Ours is definitely shaping up along those lines…
