The bench seat continues to move forward. It is surprising how long these things take… Now the surrounds for the sides are all complete as is almost another day!
When you consider that the wood needs to be extracted from the pallet (quite a lengthy, loud and physically laborious process), then cut and cleaned to shape (only the good bits can be used for a project like this), then the wood can either be cleaned and wood preservative administered prior to assembling or afterwards...
The back panel needed to be fixed to the upright pallet and that was a little tricky too. The panel couldn’t be screwed from the back on account of the thickness of the wood concerned. The actual back panel itself was a bit tricky too as all those individual bits of wood needed to be screwed into something to keep them in place… So quite a bit of work, even though it looks very simple!
Anyway the work was completed circa 4:30pm and then a fire lit.
BBQ with other allotment holders from down the way tonight - playtime!
