22nd December 2021, Wrapping up for 2021
The final “post” of four now plumbed in to support the part of the fence by the compost bins. The pieces of wood halfway up the posts are there to provide something to affix the wooden herb boxes onto once they have been built. Although the posts for this section are not as high as the trellis where the table is, they will be built up in due course, when we get around to sorting this out, for now they are ok as they are.
The second picture you can see the gap between the end of the fence and the compost bins. The plan here is to put in a paving slab, cultivate a bit of grass and a step down onto an area filled with stones, providing access to the compost bins. This will complement the terrace here and provide good drainage to ensure the wood stays as dry as is possible.
It has been a good construction period during Autumn, and the start of Winter with plenty having been done. Now for a bit of a break and we’ll see what we come back to in the new year.
