On with the construction…

 8th November 2021, On with the construction…

So the mystery construction job continues.

Could it be a shed or a tidy box?

Maybe…

Anyway, if you take a look at the first picture, 3 walls are now up, and if you then move onto the next picture you can see that the piece of plastic roofing tile that has been in the background is now getting an airing.

This was harvested from another plot. There was really only one semi complete piece. It has a few screw holes in it, but we can soon patch them up. This is one of the pieces of roof that is double skinned to provide additional insulation in the autumn and spring months, but also lets light through so things can warm up quickly if the sun comes out.

It’s a perfect size for this project. The question is: was the top the perfect size, or was the box made to fit it, or was the whole construction fitting between the raised bed and the pallets just right, well… "Seems to have worked out ok!" is about all I can say…

Here just measuring up again, as I don’t really have the tools to cut this plastic, so once again fitting things as best we can.

You see those tools on the top of the pallet: everything we have/are/will be constructing has pretty much been done with these tools. From stripping down pallets, through to cutting, fitting and screwing together: we haven’t got a shed load of tools for sure.

Another view of the construction, now you can perhaps see what I’m building?

Now with the top plastic bit measured then the next part of the side walls can be constructed as we know how long they need to be. Quite busy now up this part of the allotment!
